| Dear Fellow Morrison Center Patient:
If you're like me, you've probably been wishing that there were some easier ways to cook (or assemble!) healthy and delicious meals now that we're making some important and, for many of us, radical changes in our eating habits.
I've tried to meet the challenges of overhauling my diet by getting creative. I've experimented with new (to me) ingredients, expanded my repertoire of acceptable vegetables, fruits and natural flavoring ingredients, and created recipes that met my criteria of easy and quick to make but big on flavor.
I have asked Dr. Morrison to partner with me—and with you—to put together a cookbook of our best, most interesting recipes, reflecting the healthful guidelines that meet our individual dietary needs.
Since I am a veteran journalist in health/fitness, food and nutrition, I have offered to collect and edit any recipes you care to share, as well as my own self-created favorites. Dr. Morrison will help publish them, so they'll be available to all his patients.
Perhaps at some point, we can get our recipes published in book form for a larger audience, with introductory essays by Dr. Morrison on the guidelines for various health conditions as well as the benefits certain dietary changes can offer.
Meanwhile, I invite you to submit your favorite recipes and tips for buying foods or other ingredients (e.g., good sources for special items like coconut flour, etc.). You can either email or fax them to info@dailybenefit.com or to 212-989-9827.
Please include your full name and contact information (phone number and/or email address) so that if I have any questions or editing changes (for stylistic consistency or to adapt for recipe testing), I can reach you directly.
Please submit your recipes and tips by March 31, 2008 , so that we can test, edit and publish the booklet before the end of 2008.
PLEASE NOTE THAT RECIPES SUBMITTED WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE. THIS CONTENT MAY ALSO BE PUBLISHED AND AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you.
